About the Conference

A regional gathering with a shared purpose

The Association of Caribbean Heads of Corrections and Prison Services (ACHCPS) brings together the region's most senior correctional leaders for five days of dialogue, learning, and collaboration. Now in its 14th year, the conference convenes under the theme “One Caribbean, One Vision.”

Hosted by the Department of Correctional Services, Jamaica, the 2026 programme spans emerging technology, legal governance, staff wellbeing, and the shared mission of rehabilitation for reintegration across our jurisdictions.

Sunday, September 6, 2026 Delegates arrive in Jamaica.

Monday · Sept. 7
Conference Day 1: Opening Ceremony, Policy Direction on Corrections, Security and Technology

The official Opening Ceremony will formally launch the 14th Annual Conference and set the regional policy direction for corrections.

Day 1 will also feature discussions on security, artificial intelligence, digital transformation and technology-enabled correctional services.

Delegates will be invited to an evening Welcome Reception featuring networking, regional fellowship and Jamaican hospitality.

Tuesday · Sept. 8
Conference Day 2: Legal and Policy

Day 2 will focus on legal frameworks, correctional reform, governance, accountability, regional standards and policy alignment.

Delegates will also participate in guided tours of a correctional facility and a probation office.

Wednesday · Sept. 9
Conference Day 3: Health and Wellbeing

Sessions will address mental health in correctional settings, staff development and the professionalisation of correctional services.

The day will also feature the opening of the Caribbean Correctional Academy and a tour of the Worthington campus.

Thursday · Sept. 10
Conference Day 4: Meeting of the Heads and Institutional Tour

Day 4 will feature a meeting of the Heads of Corrections and Prison Services, providing an opportunity to discuss regional priorities, strengthen collaboration and identify areas for continued action.

Delegates will make a courtesy call on His Excellency the Most Honourable Sir Patrick Allen, ON, GCMG, CD, KSt.J, Governor-General of Jamaica.

Delegates will also participate in guided tours of two additional correctional facilities and their rehabilitation operations.

Important Accommodation Notice

Delegates attending the 14th Annual Conference of the Association of Caribbean Heads of Corrections and Prison Services (ACHCPS) are advised that the hotel booking link is now closed and will not be reopened.

However, special arrangements have been made with the conference hotel to facilitate delegates who require accommodation but have not yet secured a room.

Affected delegates are asked to submit their full name to secretariat@achcpsconference.com no later than Friday, August 21, 2026, to facilitate the reservation of a room.

Please note: Requests received after the deadline may not be accommodated.

Delegates who have already secured their accommodation are not required to take any action.

All international delegates travelling to Jamaica are required to complete the Electronic Immigration and Customs Declaration, commonly called the C5 Form, before arrival.

Arrival Airport

Delegates are asked to travel through Norman Manley International Airport in Kingston only. Please do not arrange arrival through Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay.
